Journalist Al-Mayahi was transferred to a reserve prison after being referred to the specialized criminal court.

Journalist Muhammad Dabwan Al-Mayahi was transferred from the police intelligence sector prison of the Ministry of Interior to the temporary prison.

Lawyer Ammar Ali Yassin indicated that journalist Al-Mayahi was transferred on Sunday evening April 28, 2025 to the Habra remand center.

Lawyer Yassin said the transfer came four days after the Specialized Criminal Prosecution issued an indictment, demanding that Muhammad Al-Mayahi be tried before the Specialized Criminal Court.

Yassine stressed that the indictment was issued by the same prosecutor who decided that the specialized criminal prosecution was not competent and referred it to the press prosecutor’s office.

He stressed that his client Al-Mayahi, although he was transferred to the Habra reserve, still does not have the right to visit him.
